FAQ
Can I have my consultation over the phone or by Skype?
This may be an option depending on the nature of your problem. In general initial consultations are better done face to face. Some insurance companies do not reimburse consultations that are not done face to face.
What is the current waiting time?
As of March 2019, this is 5-6 weeks from the time that we receive your referral.
How do I get to see you?
A referral is required from a health care provider, for example your General Practitioner. A referral is mandatory requirement for some health insurance companies to reimburse the consultation fees.
Who will you see?
Dr White will see people with rheumatic diseases, some of which are listed on the website home page. You do not need to meet any specific eligibility criteria. Each referral is reviewed by Dr White as it is received and if after reviewing the referral, Dr White feels unable to assist your particular situation, the referral may be declined. It is important that time is not spent waiting to see someone who cannot assist with your particular problem.
What if my situation is urgent?
You will still need a referral. Please call or email to discuss your specific situation.
Do I need to do anything prior to my appointment?
You do not need to organize any specific tests in addition to those which might have been organized by your GP or other specialist that you are seeing.
If you would like to pay for your appointment via health insurance, it might be necessary for you to talk to your insurer about pre-approval. We will discuss this with you at the time of your booking.
What do you do with my data?
We have developed a Privacy Statement that outlines what data we collect and how this is handled. You can access this here.
